The National Law Journal's annual ranking of the biggest law firms in the U.S. found that globalization is the hottest trend: The number of attorneys working in foreign offices of the top 250 firms in the nation grew by 23% in 2005.

Meanwhile the nation's large law firms continue to get even bigger, with a 4% increase in attorneys in 2005.

Greenberg Traurig maintained its ranking as the largest firm in Florida and the eighth in the nation. Holland & Knight -- which the law journal considers a New York firm -- ranked 11th in the country. The other Florida firm to make the top 100 was Akerman Senterfitt -- coming in at 100.
